What are the ‘Foxes’?
Just for fun! We will have some runners dressed with fox ears and tails who will be given a head start in the 2.5km, 5km and 7.5km events. Contestants will ‘chase’ the fox. There will be prizes for the contestants who ‘catch the fox’. When you catch the fox, the fox will give you the ears OR tail.

Will the foxes be different for each event?
Yes. There will be a female and male fox for the 5km & 7.5km events. Fox example: Males can only catch the male fox and same goes for females. For the 2.5km event the foxes will be children. There will be a boy and girl fox for U16’s and a boy and girl fox for U10’s. You can only catch the fox for your age group and gender. Thus, a 9 year old boy can only catch the U10 boy fox.
If you are 10 years old – You will catch the U16 fox
If you are 16 years old –  There will not be a fox to catch in the 2.5km event.

Will the foxes be given a head start?
The foxes will be given a short head start. This will be nominal as we want the foxes to be caught!

Can I take the ears and tails off another contestant that caught the fox?
Absolutely not. First to get the ears and tails keep the ears and tails.

Is there a prize if the fox wins the race?
